The line up

All of the pups are doing well... Berlin is by far almost 1.5 the size of her siblings... Oslo and Dublin are about the same size...

But Paris is half the size of her next largest sibling... I'm worried about this little one and question if there is something wrong... Her motor skills and personality are on track with her siblings, but her size is sure startling when seen with her siblings...

She's eating fine - in fact all of the pups were weaned and mom's milk was gone by the time she arrived here, so I am putting their birth date at May 22nd...

A pretty rowdy crew, Paris is no slouch when it comes to dinner time and she muscles her way inside and underneath her sisters and brothers to get to the dinner table!... She may not be able to eat as much as her siblings, but she's not going to be left behind either!

I kept a pretty close eye on her - we always do with a runt in the litter... Just to make sure she is getting enough to eat... And although I don't see her missing a meal as of yet, my senses are heightened about this little one, hoping she is going to make it and there is nothing physically wrong with her...

Beginnings and Back story

Paris was found in a very high kill shelter, along with her three siblings (Berlin, Oslo and Dublin) and her mom (Vienna) in June of 2011... At two months old, Paris weighed less than a pound and was the smallest in the litter... Each pup in the litter was remarkably gorgeous - Dublin was a blue & white, Oslo a fluffy snow white, Berlin with a herringbone pattern (and also the largest - double in size of her other siblings) and Paris who is black and white... Momma Vienna is a true Red and White Chihuahua - probably a purebred - although there are no papers to guarantee that...

When first alerted about this litter, we felt that it would be pulled quickly - puppies are always the hottest commodity, especially in the general public, so we did not worry very much about their eventual outcome... A week or so later, we started to get worried and although the rescue was busting at the seams (yet again), I agreed to take on mom and pups... And so it begins...
