Good news... bad news...

This week Paris saw another vet for a decision about being spayed... At four months old now, she weighed in at a whole 21 ounces, so she's not a candidate to be spayed until she is 32 ounces... And at the rate she is going, that might be at a year old... Until she's spayed, by state law she is not able to be adopted by a rescue to the general public...

In addition, the doc is worried about thyroid issues as well, so in October, we'll run another blood panel and see how her body is doing with its development... Stay tuned...

In the meantime, Paris has gotten a new temporary bud to play with... His name is "BlueBoy" and for now, he is ALL hers (and she's loving it!)...

Momma Vienna has accepted him as one of her own, and the two pups play throughout the day together...  Once BlueBoy gets neutered, he will go up for adoption but in the meantime, Paris has a playmate!

You can see him WAYYYYYY back to the left in her new 'palace'... Another change in her lifestyle...

During the day and in playtime, she and BlueBoy have a 'crib' (the largest crate I could find - enough to house a German Shepherd in), and we fashioned it so we can flip back the top of the crate (like a crib) when needed, put it on wheels and wheel them outside to play in the fresh air...

Paris has far too much attitude to play with even the smallest fosters... We have tried to integrate her with the gentlest of them, to no avail... One paw swipe and she gets rolled, so for her own safety (and to avoid a broken leg surgery or worse), we have to accommodate and 'think out of the box' here... (smile)...

And at night, she now has a 'palace'... We got the largest rabbit hutch we could find, rigged the side to open and batten down the sides well...

BlueBoy and Paris go up the ramp to eat and drink, but otherwise the entire rabbit hutch is theirs to play in, sleep in and whatever else they want to do!

At night, Vienna crawls in with BlueBoy and Paris to sleep, but she's learned how to get my attention that she wants back into the palace during the day... Almost like she wants to check and make sure she's OK... Otherwise, Vienna is out and about, running around and acting like a teenager!...

It is an odd relationship... Vienna knows Paris is her daughter as she does Berlin... She plays with both of them but separately because of Paris' small size... Vienna is extremely protective of Paris and won't allow the other dogs to get too close to the crib when Paris is inside as well...

Vienna is content to sleep with her daughter and adopted son, but she seems to appreciate the reprieve from being Paris' only source of canine companionship...

Dunno... We tend to put human emotions on our fur babies, despite the scientific world telling us it is not correct...  So what do I know?

For today, she is happy and healthy... She's survived a lot and is currently learning what a harness and lead is all about (we had to get her a ferret harness because we couldn't find one small enough)... Each day is a gift and you can't help but look at that face and small body without being touched by it...
